Magazine research

To help with the designing of my work I have looked through some fashion magazines including Elle, Vouge, Marie Claire and The City Talking. 

The City Talking is an independent and free magazine that talks about topics from different cities. The most recent addition of the magazine focuses on fashion in different cities like London, Huddersfield, Sheffield and Leeds. I really like the simplistic style and layout of this magazine. I like the font used and how it is laid out on the page with the same length of line. The photographs used are artistic and and always the main focus of the page which I think is important when it comes to fashion. 

I also love how the magazine includes some fashion illustration which has given me inspiration to maybe but my own fashion illustrations within my publication to add something different. Each page also has #fashion, the city and the artist name/topic on each spread which I really like because not only is it informative but it looks appealing on each page and its good to have the consistency throughout the magazine. 

I also liked these images which were taken from Vouge )May 2015) . I like the styling and composure. I plan to keep these magazines around to look at when I am designing to give me inspiration on layout.
