Post Production part one

Today Anna presented part one of post production; postmodern and appropriation. Post production is defined as the transformation of something that already exists. So basically it is using other peoples art work to create a new piece of work by redesigning and changing it in your own way for example collage. It is a contemporary way of thinking and is not about copying but using it as a source to create new things. In the modern world, media technology can be used to compose and display art work.

Marcel Duchamps Fountain 1917 (which we have been shown in several lectures before) is an example of post production because he took a urinal that he had not made and added writing too it, to create artwork that is his.

Research is a also in a way post production because you are looking at other peoples work and taking inspiration and ides from it for your own work and it becomes a huge web of relationships.
