Typography lesson
In today's Thursdays afternoon class we did typography. After watching some clips to help gain inspiration we were given some sheets of paper with images printed on and used them for inspiration. Then using A3 paper or grid paper we sketched out letters to help us create a typeface in the future. I liked a colorful 70's style image so created some type inspired by it using pencil, fine liner and pro markers. I also made a font that looked like it was made of buildings, using the grid paper to make sure the lines were straight and the proportions were correct.
After we had done them we hung them on the wall which gave us an opportunity to look at what other work people had produced. We did this task as part of a typography brief where we will design our own unique typeface.
