Location Drawing 2

Today's task was to undergo location drawing again, but inside the creative arts building instead of outside like last time. The first location was in the corridor of the building on floor 2 but looking over the balcony. We were facing the large window that showed outside and also what was happening in the building on the bottom floor. The first drawing I attempted was a quick sketch of the window and the wall outside you could see through it. I did this with pencil and went over it with fine liner just to experiment. This is not my favorite drawing of the lot but shows some shading technique.

The second drawing I did whilst looking over the balcony was of some music equipment that two men where fiddling with by the window. I drew the men as dark figures but you can still make out some features. I drew the puddles of wires on the floor with simple squiggles as this proved effective. This was all done with pencil. 

The second location was in the studio next to the huge window where you can see out onto the main road. I decided to draw the road crossing with pencil then black fine liner. However I decided to experiment with some Letraset markers. The pack contained different shades of grey/black so I used them to colour the concrete and tarmac and also used a yellow one. I really liked using these as the colours were easy to blend so I could easily add shading and texture. I like them so much that I want to buy some for myself!

The last drawing was drawn on the bottom floor of the building where we sat near the sound equipment (which was playing very annoying sounds!). Right in front of me was the back of a speaker, so I decided to draw this. For this drawing I used only black fine liner and used a sketchy rough technique. I like the style of this drawing a lot and think the way its shaded is nice.

We then put up our work on walls and was able to look at each others drawings. I saw some good ones which gave me some inspiration.
