Drawing and Motion Graphics with sara

Today was another process and production with Sara. The work is about the hand, the use of drawing on screen, and ways to combine digital and analogue production. Before the lesson we were asked to prepare one sketch, and trace over it twice so that we had three of the same sketch but because each one was drawn they look slightly different. I decided to draw a plant because I thought I would be able to make a cute little animation and thought about using different shades of green and dark blue. These are the three plant drawings I produced and then scanned in to my laptop.

In class I put my drawings onto a Photoshop file and sized them so they were all the same. I then saved each image as a jpeg naming them image_01, image_02 etc. I then found a white crinkled paper background online and inserted it onto a composition along with the plants that I saved on a loop so that the three drawings played on a loop and looked like a moving/wiggling drawing. I decided to duplicate the plants so that there were three next to each other and I coloured them like I had previously thought, using dark green, light green and dark blue. In class I also tried out adding a line that looked as if it was being drawn on, and also tried adding text. This worked but I decided to keep it simple because it looked better without these add on's, but I still got to learn how to do it so that is good. I like my final piece and think it looks very pretty. It would be fun to try animating my own drawings in this style in the future.
