Developed work 1 - Typography
I enjoyed the typography project with John so much that I decided to take this project further at home and keep developing the typeface. Below I changed the stroke to white and added a black background. I really like this look as it reminds me of something by the design agency 'Spin' because of the black and white and geometric style. I think it works better than the previous design because the white stands out against the black better especially as the stroke is quite thin (0.75 pt). This text is also center aligned.
As an experiment I decided to add a white fill to the letters. I knew that it would not fill normally because of the way the boxes connected and I quite like the outcome. I like the way bits aren't filled, or half filled and think it works quite well with some of the letters, especially the first couple of rows.
I wanted to see what the font would look like if it was properly used as I had only been able to view it as an alphabet so far. Therefore I made a new document and using my typeface I spelled out 'Huddersfield'. I think that it looks really a good and that the words all flow together and none of them look out of place/odd.
