Essay - book

Todays lesson was one of our last lessons with James before formative hand in. I have currently written about half of my essay, which was peer marked in class as usual. James had also asked us to bring in books from the library that we were thinking of using as reference in our essays. I brought a book called 'Sound and Vision'. I got this book from the library because I thought it might have some insight to certain bands and album information as well as knowledge on rock music and culture. The second book is called 'Rock music - culture, aesthetics and sociology' by Peter Wicke. I borrowed this book because I wanted to know more about rock music so I could have more knowledge about it when I talked about it in my essay.

I also was instructed to look at my partner Amy's books that she had brought, these were calligraphy books about the history of calligraphy before printing press's were made. These books were a good choice because her essay is about calligraphy and its role in graphic design. I then had to get a quote from one of my books that I will put in my essay. I actually got a quote from the blurb of the book because I think it is a good sum up and explanation of rock music;
'Rock music - powerful, sensual. loud and full of energy. It has changed the face of modern music'.
